Château Capbern-Gasqueton Saint-Estèphe 2009 is a classic Left Bank Bordeaux from a strong vintage, produced in the Saint-Estèphe appellation and dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and a small amount of Cabernet Franc. It is a medium- to full-bodied wine known for its structure, minerality, and balance, showing flavours of black cherry, cassis, and red berries alongside notes of liquorice, earth, and subtle spice, with firm but now softening tannins . At over 15 years old, it is fully mature and drinking well, offering a rounded, polished texture with lingering fruit and a slightly earthy finish typical of Saint-Estèphe wines . While not a top-tier classified growth, it is considered excellent value and a very good example of the vintage, best enjoyed now or within the next few years.
